'VENUE' KNOW, YOU JUST KNOW

This was the message.

It's called the *Cathedral Mosque of Cordoba* in Spain .
First it was a church, then the ruler of that time changed this church into a mosque & then again it was converted to a cathedral.

As it is in dispute, now a devout Muslim comes and gives 'Azaan' at prayer time and offers salaah (namaaz) on this site.

_Credit to the Christian congregation who maintain *pin-drop silence* during the Azaan_.

Don't miss the video. Its amazing to see such beautiful things in life really exists.....

This was the video that accompanied the message.

It is a soulful rendition no matter what the venue. Only, this isn't Cordoba.

What was the point of the video?
To capture a prayer - an Azan/Adhan - sung by a Muslim in the midst of a choir recital.

What was the point of the message?
To peg it geographically as Cordoba in Spain, to mention that the venue was a church-turned mosque-turned cathedral, as well as credit the Christian congregation for *pin-drop silence*.

Now see this video:

This was uploaded by the person who perform the Adhaan and this was the descriptor.
"The Royal Call to Prayer was performed by Hassen Rasool who was delighted to be asked to perform the Adhan amongst the Windsor and Eton Choral Society in the Eton School Hall on the 27th September 2014."

Eton is in the United Kingdom (UK). And this is a school hall, not a church.

And the Cordoba mosque was converted to a cathedral. It was never a church before that. Here's a little on the structure - you will find that it doesn't have the smooth pale walls of the relatively modern structure in the Adhan video.

You might ask what harm the accompanying message does. The person who sent it to me thought I was making a big deal out of this. But when pushed, was quick to say, that the disciplined silence of the Christian congregation was commendable and asked if it would happen the other way round. It basically came down to this need to reinforce certain beliefs about Muslims and Christians.

Most fake news and hoax messages are about asserting superiority over a community - whether it is religious superiority, caste superiority, jingoism, or the biggest of them all, moral superiority intermixed with the other forms of superiority.

If it was really about the rendition, the video didn't need the overlay of the accompanying message. Silence can convey depth of emotion better than sanctimonious chatter.
