There is such a thing as grammatical gender.

In Hindi, the word for water, paani, is masculine and the word for boat, naav, is feminine. Wouldn't it be a much more evocative piece of writing that uses the metaphor of a boat setting sailing to describe the coming together of the feminine and the masculine?

Why doesn't writing like that go viral?
